Our Family

While working on his family farm on a small town in New Zealand's South Island, Greg decided to spread his wings before settling down. His adventures began in London, where Greg found himself working in London's Finance & Futures sector. Then, on a whim, he swapped his office and tie for the wilds of Africa working as a tour guide and driver for a number of years, where he eventually met Trudi -- his future bride.

Trudi Petersen is a Nova Scotian, and she worked in the legal professional as a paralegal/legal executive in Nova Scotia, London and, finally, New Zealand, when she and Greg married and had their first child -- daughter Shani, born in 2000.

Deciding their future looked brighter in Nova Scotia, they packed up shortly after Shani's arrival and moved back to Trudi's home town and  Kiwi Kaboodle was born -- since then they have been promoting Nova Scotia to a wide variety of travelers from backpackers to corporate international travelers.  After years traveling on everything from dirt roads in Africa, Middle East and Central America to the highways and rail of Europe and North America Greg understands the needs and desires of vacationers. He uses his own travel experiences to create quality tours and vacations that you can depend on.

They now have a second daughter: Jacquelyn (Jaqs), born in 2002. Like their family, their business is also growing and has gone from offering guided tours of Nova Scotia to arranging vacation packages, organizing conventions and planning weddings and other events.

Our Company

Kiwi Kaboodle is a tour, travel and event planning company based in Nova Scotia.  We offer a wide range of services to help you in planning and booking your trip to Nova Scotia -- whether you are an individual travelling on your own, a couple wanting a romantic getaway,  a whole family looking for family entertainment or even a business wanting to have your convention hosted in Eastern Canada, we will ensure your visit to Nova Scotia is unforgettable. We use our own traveling experiences to create tours and vacation packages which we consider to be the best available.

We offer a complete range of services: our guided tours are full service tours which are tailored to suit your requirements. With a maximum of six people, we are able to accommodate your interests -- maybe it's multiple photo stops or a picnic lunch in a secluded fishing village or beach; stopping in Halifax on a cruise ship and want a customized tour while you're in port; perhaps a shopping trip, visiting some of the fantastic crafters, folk artists and craft shops throughout the province.

Our vacation packages are carefully planned.  With personal contact and inspection of the accommodations and restaurants we use, we ensure that you get the best facilities available. The packages listed on this site are only a selection of what we have available. If you don't see exactly what you are looking for, please complete our questionnaire and we will ensure you get the vacation you desire.

Planning a wedding? A special anniversary party? A family reunion? We can take care of all the arrangements and provide you with a host of suggestions to keep everyone busy.

Since 2003 it has been law in Nova Scotia that ALL tour operators in Nova Scotia be licensed by the NSPURB.  Among other things, licensed tour companies carry a required standard of insurance, undergoes six-monthly safety inspections, a full medical kit and other emergency items and that the vehicle has a clearly marked emergency exit. It's easy to tell if your tour company is licensed: a Commercial Plate must be prominently displayed on the front of the vehicle, and sign-writing (name of company, address & phone numbers) must appear on at least two sides of the vehicle. There are no exceptions to this law! For your own peace of mind always ensure you request your tour driver's PURB Licence Number to ensure you are travelling with a legal tour company within Nova Scotia
