Welcome to 399 years of history, conflict
and culture. The world's highest tides of the Bay of Fundy were dyked by
the Acadians, so the tidewaters don't reach the beautiful vineyards,
orchards and pastures of the Annapolis Valley. Lots of historic sites
blend into the rich fertile farmland and fishing villages along the coast.
There are many trails to hike and fabulous restaurants to enjoy local
culinary delights, including lobster in Lunenburg, a UNESCO World
Heritage site and home of the Bluenose
II. You will pass beaches where you can stop for a
swim, fishing villages with the colorful Cape Islander fishing boats
docked and the famous Peggy's
Cove. It is not uncommon to stand on the rocks and see whales or dolphins that
can often outnumber the sixty residents that live here. |
