Peggy's Cove at sunset

Welcome to Halifax: a 254 year old port city that has maintained its historic charm. Visit the museums, the Citadel, the casino, pubs and fine restaurants. The city offers a multitude of activities to entertain you for your first two days before departing for Peggy's Cove, where hundreds of years of crashing waves have smoothed the granite boulders. Follow the Lighthouse Route through quaint villages to Lunenburg: a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to Canada's most famous schooner, the Bluenose II.   Travel back in time to yesteryear -- the time will pass quickly with many short scenic trips, craft shops, restaurants & cafes, a visit to the local museum  and even a highly-rated golf course. Enjoy a fresh lobster dinner before returning to Halifax for your final night.

Since 2003 it has been law in Nova Scotia that ALL tour operators in Nova Scotia be licensed by the NSPURB.  Among other things, licensed tour companies carry a required standard of insurance, undergoes six-monthly safety inspections, a full medical kit and other emergency items and that the vehicle has a clearly marked emergency exit. It's easy to tell if your tour company is licensed: a Commercial Plate must be prominently displayed on the front of the vehicle, and sign-writing (name of company, address & phone numbers) must appear on at least two sides of the vehicle. There are no exceptions to this law! For your own peace of mind always ensure you request your tour driver's PURB Licence Number to ensure you are travelling with a legal tour company within Nova Scotia
